Counselling for Carers

It can be difficult to think of yourself as a carer when you are caring for family members or friends.  However it cannot be overestimated the change being a carer makes to someone's life.

If your partner becomes ill it can have a devastating effect on your life and may leave you feeling lonely, socially isolated and missing the person your partner used to be.

Caring for any person whether it is parents, siblings, partners, children or friends can be a tough job even if it is done willingly,   It  can be hard to admit that you are finding things difficult because it can feel as if you are complaining.

My experience of counselling carers and working with people who need to be cared for has made it clear to me how difficult and demanding the carer's role is. Family and friends do not always understand or have time to help and social life can fade away.  It can be particularly difficult if the person you are caring for also seems to change personality and becomes irritable and demanding,

Counselling for Carers offers emotional support to help you through a difficult time. These sessions offer a space for you to say how you are feeling and be listened to in a non judgemental and confidential environment.
