Perhaps you feel that you could achieve more and have never quite fulfilled your potential. It may be that you need space and support to discover more about yourself. Raising your self awareness can lead to an understanding of what is happening for you now and the changes you may want to make in your life.
Alternatively life may feel overwhelming and it is difficult to see a clear way ahead. The pressures of work, relationships, caring for others, or being alone and unable to discuss anxieties and problems can leave issues to build up, until it becomes difficult to cope.
Loneliness can be felt even amongst family and loved ones, particularly if something is on our mind which is difficult to share.
There can also be unresolved issues from long ago which we feel we have dealt with, until something comes along and triggers a response which may seem out of proportion to what is happening in the here and now.
These sessions give you space and support in finding your way through a difficult time and facilitate finding out more about yourself and the choices you have in life.

I am happy to work with all adults from 16 years of age onward, there is no upward limit. All are welcome.
Particular Interests
Counselling those with speech difficulties due to Parkinsons and speech and language problems due to stroke and aphasia. I also have extensive experience working with those who need to care for others.
Qualifications
I have a BSc (hons) in integrative counselling which means that I am trained in understanding the different theoretical approaches of counselling. I also have NCFE Levels 1,2 & 3 certificates in "Counselling skills" and "Counselling Skills and Theory".
I am a member of the BACP and adhere to its Ethical Framework for Good Practice and Professional Conduct Procedure.
As well as working with clients in my private practice, I have experience as a counsellor with a charity which offers emotional support to carers. I also work within the NHS in the Speech and Language therapy department.
I was inspired to qualify as a counsellor through working with people who had acquired speech and language difficulties due to various illness such as stroke or Parkinson's. It brought home to me the new challenges faced and the difficulty accessing counselling support when speech is impaired. Through Counselling and Communication I offer people with speech difficulties a safe and confidential environment to explore the changes they face and support confidence.
Carers who are supporting family members or friends can feel lonely and isolated when life changes due to someone they love becoming ill. Confidential emotional support can help work through the changes in a relationship and give time and space to talk about feelings that may be difficult to share with friends and family.
I offer face-to-face, skype and telephone counselling support on an open-ended or time-limited basis depending on your individual circumstances.
I have regular professional counselling supervision and hold full Professional Liability Insurance for my counselling practice.
